So how do you create faith in yourself? Here are some techniques:
Replace Limiting Beliefs
One of the most common blocks for achieving your goal is not believing that you can achieve it. This is the most basic of your limiting beliefs and the first one that you should override if you really do want to achieve your goal. Now, the way your mind is set up is that a limiting belief cannot actually be detonated, but it must be removed through death by lack of use. Your beliefs and habits are like a forest trail and the more you use that trail, the more the debris on the trail will clear away and the trail will become hard and worn from your feet pounding on it. When you stop using that trail, the brush will eventually grow back and the trail will begin to look just like the rest of the forest. Therefore, the best way to get rid of an old limiting belief is just to quit using it and instead use a new belief that you created. This is called a positive belief. Say you had an old belief that it wasn’t possible for you to beat your grandma at chess because of all of the times she beat you (I hope you weren’t abused by your grandma by the way), but if you recognize that you have this belief, you can then create a new belief that you CAN beat your grandma at chess. The more you repeat this belief to yourself, the more you will begin to clear this new trail. This will then motivate you to become better at chess and make your new belief a reality.
Imagine Success
Imagine what it will look like and feel like to have already accomplished your goal. Make it like a movie in your mind with you as the main character. Feel what it will feel like, smell what it will smell like, see what it will look like, hear what it will sound like and taste what it will taste like. This will help you to believe that what you want is possible and it will then begin to stimulate your mind to ask questions, and think of things that may need to happen in order for you to actually achieve this goal.
Surround Yourself with Positive Expectation
Don’t let anything into your reality that suggests that you may not be able to achieve your goal. By definition, if you have nothing that can make it so that you can’t achieve your goal, then nothing stands in your way and so you have a clear path to success. Of course, there may actually be blocks that you need to take care of in your path to achieving your goal, but those are still possible to remove or go around. Don’t let anything into your reality that says that you can’t achieve your goal, period. Where there is a will, there is a way, and there is almost no goal that more, or a higher level of creativity can’t overcome.
Expect to Succeed
The next step up from having faith, is actually expecting to succeed. Positive expectation will open doors for you because when others see that you expect to succeed, they are more likely to help you on your way up (if it benefits them). However, be careful of showing others your positive expectation if they may not want you to achieve your goal. They will most likely try to sabotage you. Keep your positive expectation inside and it will be a boost to your motivation.
Trust Your Genes
You were given genes from your mother and father at birth and your mother and father were given genes from each of their mothers and fathers on down the line until the original bacteria ancestor. You were given these powerful genes that have withstood the test of time and you need to trust these genes and trust that they know what’s best for you (after all, they have been “living life” for the past 4 billion years). Imagine that your genes are carrying you on this journey and that you are going to succeed whether your mind wants you to or not, because that is what your genes want and they have the true power.
Believe that it Works
When you are using a technique to solve a problem in your life, most of the time, it doesn’t always matter if the technique works or not, but believing that it does work will push you forward. Believing that the technique you are trying out works will give you a motivation, boldness and confidence that will probably be even more beneficial to you than actually using the technique to accomplish your goal. This means that as long as you are always experimenting and trying something new, you will constantly be refilling the confidence, boldness and motivation in yourself to keep moving higher. Even if you are using the most powerful techniques known to man, you will still benefit even more by truly believing that those techniques work, and giving yourself the extra boost that come along with that belief. Believe that it works and it will.
