Imagine Your Destiny

Imagining destiny is the process of picturing in your mind what it will look like, feel like, smell like, sound like and taste like when your goals or desires are accomplished. Fulfilling your purpose is your destiny and imagining what this will look like will help you to actually make it happen because your mind will form plans and beliefs around this vision to make it a reality.

So how can you imagine destiny more effectively? Here are some techniques:

Know What You Want

It’s important to at least have an idea of what you want so that you can imagine it in your mind. Clarify this by asking yourself questions such as: “What do I want?” “What is my purpose” and “What is my destiny?”

Use All of Your Senses

Use this power effectively by imagining success with as many of your senses as possible; try to make it just like an actual experience and ask yourself: “What does success look like and feel like?” and your imagination will be activated. If you don’t feel excellent in this process then your goals are not what you really want and you need to change them to goals that will make you feel excellent when they are achieved.

Example #1 – Imagine Before a Performance

Whenever I am about do some kind of performance, such as an audition or a speech, I imagine in my mind what I would experience if the performance went so good that it made me feel excellent when I was doing it and when I was finished. I imagine seeing the smiling and impressed faces, I imagine getting the handshakes afterwards with them saying: “Good job Broderick; that was amazing.” I’ve realized that the more real I can make the imagined experience, and the longer I can do it, the better my actual performance is, and the better I feel after and during the actual performance.

Example #2 – Don’t Accept What You Experience as Reality

When I am bored, I ask myself: “What could I be experiencing right now that would make me feel excellent?” and my mind starts to create an alternative reality where I can own my own successful business, be the leader of an excellent group of people, or just make a new friend. The cool thing is that when I begin to imagine these alternative realities, my mind begins to give me ideas as to how I can make them possible. For example, I was imagining feeling excellent at work one time and I was imagining graduating from college and being done with all my school work. As I did this, I started realizing all of the things I could be doing now and in the future to make that happen faster and easier, such as taking more courses next term (I was planning on going part time but realized that since I have recently improved my personal productivity in various ways I could handle more) and buying my books online early to save money. These ideas came to me simply because I consciously decided to imagine feeling excellent.

Now go out there and imagine your destiny and let me know how it works for you!
